Peter J. Lau, MD, FSVS, FACS, RPVI is Kansas native originally from Wichita, Kansas. He is a graduate from the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine, Class of 2014. He completed General Surgery Residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine-Tulsa in 2019. He also completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship in 2021 at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Lau is board certified in Vascular Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Midwestern Vascular Surgery Society. Dr. Lau is a published author and has presented at numerous academic society conferences. Throughout his training, he has served on multiple hospital and training program committees. He is currently the Vascular Lab Director at North Kansas City Hospital. Dr. Lau also has a passion for surgical education and is involved in training residents and fellows. He also serves as Clinical Assistant professor at Kansas City University surgical residencies and Midwest Aortic & Vascular Institute Vascular Surgery Fellowship.

Dr. Lau is a very compassionate vascular surgeon with a broad surgical education in complex procedures. He has trained under many influential surgeons in the vascular community and has a special interest in the areas of complex aortic dissection, open and endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, and vascular access for hemodialysis and spine exposure. When caring for patients, Dr. Lau truly believes in treating patients as if they were his own family members.

Away from patient care, Dr. Lau enjoys spending time with family and friends, food and cooking, hunting, fishing, camping, golf and automotive mechanics.
